Gardens, Pools, and Scrapbooking

Saturday we went to take a walk around Shelter Gardens. Today was a great pool day with as hot as it is so we did that today. Jason is off on vacation in a couple of days which he is excited about. I'm looking foward to a weekend visit from Jona and Lisa this weekend!

Shelter Gardens

This guy seems to be used to people.

Good thing Jason is going on vacation with as tired as he looks.
Jazzie likes to hide her treats in very odd places to save for later. Magnus usually finds them first though. So she's started hiding them in places he can't get to, like behind chairs and under tables. She's getting bigger, up to about 7.5 lbs. now.
I broke in my scrapbooking room this weekend. I. Love. It.

Scrapbook room

Weekend was pretty quiet this weekend. Went to see Batman, it was awesome!

Jazz loves to climb all over you.
She hated, hated, hated her first bath.
Got my scrapbook room all cleared out finally!

Putting the tool kit to work

I put my pink toolkit to good use tonight and put my desk together. Yay! This is a smaller version of the desk I originally had my eye on. Good thing I went with this one because the other one just wouldn't have fit. This weekend I'll have to clean the rest of the mess out of the room. It was going great, until I got to the last leg and oh, the pre-drilled holes weren't in the right location. But I improvised and got it to work. I knew I had a good reason to buy that tool kit!

Youzeum

Hey everyone! Our weekend was filled with errand running. Today we took Caylea to the Youzeum, which is kinda like a children's discovery museum. It was pretty cool. Much better for her age than the museum in Blm. So here are a few pictures for ya.

Have I mentioned how much I dislike the wild things running around our backyard at night? The other night Magnus took off after something, I think it was a fox. But he was on his own, no way was I chasing him. So he is no longer allowed out at night since he'll go after whatever is out there. Every time I go out I can see these red eyes coming out of the pitch black woods. Freaky. Last night I took Jazz out around 2:30am and had just picked her up to bring her in when this thing started barking at me. I'm assuming it was a coyote. But he was not too far away standing up on the little hill behind our house. I'm not sure if he was mad I was there or mad that I had picked up Jazz. Regardless I high-tailed it back inside! So, from now on I'm armed with a flashlight, a big ole' black baton, and taking the puppy out on a leash.

Caylea playing guitar hero with Jazzie on her lap. We bought Aerosmith Guitar Hero and we were pretty disappointed with it. A lot of their older songs that aren't really known are on there and you have to play each song as it comes up, you can't choose on your own. We were bored to tears while playing it. We kept waiting for it to get better and it never did.
At the Youzeum, you could sit at a desk and "interview" the mayor, the fire chief, and some sports people from Mizzou. It was "broadcast" on this tv. It was pretty cool.
More Youzeum

My new pink toolkit! : ) Last week we got to go to a few houses and sketch them and evaluate some damage scenarios. It was a lot of fun. I'm learning a ton.

Emergency vet trip

We had a little excitement on Sunday night....Jazz followed Caylea upstairs and decided to come back down on her own. She must've tumbled down the stairs because all we heard was her yelping like crazy. So when I went to get her, she had her little leg way up and to the side. We thought for sure she had broken her leg. So off to the emergency vet we go. She threw up on me 3 times on the way, due to what we presumed was pain. Of course by the time we got to the vet she was walking on her leg again. So turned out it was nothing, maybe just a bad sprain. She was the hit of the night at the vet and they completely spoiled her. So turns out, she gets carsick. Badly. As proven by her 4th time of throwing up on me on the way home. Taking care of puppies is like having a baby in the house....up all hours of the night, trips to the emergency room, covered in vomit. I'm pretty much exhausted! Good thing she is so cute I can't get mad at her.

Long weekend

Hope everyone had a good 4th! We stayed home and just relaxed. We were all too tired to really fight crowds and try to go anywhere. We went to see Wall-E on Saturday and hit the pool today.
Our visitor on the 4th....we caught this guy trying to sneak in the house.
It's great not having any backyard neighbors, but we have all kinds of crazy animals and bugs and things that I'm not real fond of running into in the middle of the night when taking the puppy out.

Magnus and Jazzie play constantly now. They like to play tug of war. Usually Jazzie wants whatever toy Magnus has. We took her on her first walk this weekend and she tried to just lay in the grass a lot of the time. Today was her second walk and she has the hang of it now. It definitely wears her out which is great for us.

Congrats to Dirk and Susan on their new addition, Sophie! We can't wait to meet her!!
